Challenge
Forme emerged from a simple yet powerful insight: traditional gym equipment is bulky, inaccessible, and doesn’t adapt to individual users. They wanted to create a smarter, space-saving solution that brought personalized strength training into the home.
Recognizing that home fitness was often clunky, intrusive, and disconnected from a holistic view of health, the founders set out to create something fundamentally different: a beautifully designed, AI-powered fitness mirror that could serve as both a personal trainer and a wellness companion.
Idea
My mission in designing FORME – from brand to product to user experience was to blur the lines between the home and gym, and deliver a highly engaging experience with the motivation, variety, and instruction you get from a great personal trainer at a gym, for those that don’t have the time it takes to maintain a consistent gym schedule.
An extraordinary level of detail went into developing all elements of the physical device , the UI, and the broad range of accessories. Working closely with the engineering teams at Forme , we designed handles, pull down ropes, ankle straps, long bars, short bars, workout benches, wellness mats, a barre, and even a bespoke cleaning kit.

Personalized instruction, intuitive interface and AI driven smart workouts
Designing the UI was just as important as the physical product. It was crucial we crafted the UI to be intuitive, with simple and easy-to-understand graphics that shows your progress within each exercise as well as the overall workout.
Forme is the combination of convenience, luxury, and technology. Aided by machine learning & AI, Forme can recommend the perfect trainer for users, class-level, and set the weight resistance automatically for each exercise based on personalized preferences. It will even automatically adjust as your fitness levels change over time. The station also leverages advanced 3D motion tracking technology to provide expert guidance on form and technique, creating an additional layer of safety and personalization.
A companion app that drives positive outcomes
Taking a collaborative approach to product design meant we never miss a feature or moment. We created clear, simple application maps to show user flows and actions taken to ensure a complete and compelling experience with no dead ends.
Impact
Forme’s innovation lies at the intersection of design, adaptive technology, and whole-self wellness. It redefined what connected fitness could look like; quietly powerful, hyper-personalized, and deeply human. In doing so, Forme didn't just create a product; it established a premium category for mindful, design-led fitness experiences in the modern home.
Forme launched in 2020 and stands out as a design-led, premium product in the smart mirror space. Praised for style, immersive coaching, and engineering. It’s premium price-tag remains a barrier for broader market penetration.
